Strategic consultancy
PSP has worked with Government Departments and other organisations to look at their objectives, organisational structures and processes, to identify better ways of working. Our early work focused on science policy but we have also worked in other areas of public policy where research and analysis are used to inform decision-making.
Sensitivity to the internal culture and organisational issues is critical in this sort of work. We use a mixture of research techniques including analysis of management data, and a range of interview and survey techniques to capture the perspectives of all those involved, including senior managers, other staff and external stakeholders. This provides us with a rounded view of the organisation, the issues it faces (internally and externally) and an evidence base from which to make wide-reaching recommendations that address organisational structures, ways of working, training needs and the impact of the prevailing corporate culture.
Our expertise lies in understanding organisations that need staff with different skill sets to work together to fulfil organisational objectives. In particular, we have looked at situations where research and analysis staff need to interact closely with policy-makers and executive staff.

To support organisational and policy development we can design and facilitate workshops and brain storming events for staff and/or stakeholders. PSP can provide experienced facilitators to ensure you get the most out of the session.
