PSP uses a range of methods and techniques to help us address our clients’ objectives and we are particularly expert at drawing together information from multiple sources.
In designing our approach to any problem, we begin by identifying what information is required to address the objectives, issues or questions. We then appraise existing knowledge in order to assess what new information needs to be gathered before moving on to determine how best to gather that information – often within tight time and budget constraints but without sacrificing quality.
PSP staff include trained researchers who ensure that the data we collect is robust and will stand up to public scrutiny. We undertake reviews of existing work, secondary analysis of existing data, including national statistics and management data, as well as primary data collection using: interviews, focus groups, deliberative research and surveys.
As well as using traditional research techniques we also run public dialogues.
